The weight and purity of each Gold Eagle are backed by the US Mint. The front of the coin is a recreation of a classic American design, Augustus Saint-Gaudens’ depiction of Liberty. The opposite side has an impressive design as well. This side shows a family of bald eagles in great detail. The reverse design was created by Miley Busiek.
